In autumn 2016 the initial Kent and Medway Health and Social Care Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) was published. It sets out a vision for the future, and an ambition for changing health and social care. Now there is a need for more detailed plans to look at how the STP could work in practice. Committees of local doctors, NHS chief executives, and councils, with input from patient groups and voluntary and community groups, are getting this more detailed work underway.
The listening events will be an opportunity to discuss first-hand the criteria that will be used to ensure the plans are robust and will work for each and every community.
“It’s vitally important that any changes made to health and care in east Kent ere developed in partnership with the wider community. So these events are an excellent opportunity to find out more about what we are doing to improve local care and to help shape the future. We hope many of you will join us as we work together to develop the best possible health and care system,” said Dr Jonathan Bryant, clinical chair, NHS South Kent Coast CCG.
